I believe that we can all make the lives of others better, in large and small ways, if we focus on what can be, and have a sense of urgency and goodwill.

Driving the Conversation is a blog on changing paradigms - and outcomes - through the purposeful application of effective strategy, policy, and leadership.

I have chosen topics ranging from transportation and mobility - which impact the opportunities for every individual - to business, sports, politics, and the economy.

Several of these blog posts are informed by my work as the leader of a regional business advocacy group in the Raleigh/Durham area called the Regional Transportation Alliance for more than 15 years.

While I have lived in North Carolina's Research Triangle metro area for more than two decades, I was raised in a small town in southwestern Pennsylvania, and that background also influences many of these entries. 

I believe that you can never spend too much time communicating better, and listening is essential. I welcome feedback on existing blog posts and any suggestions for new ones.
